    Shopping and Dining

When we say convenient, we really mean it! Sanibel Gateway is only:

    • less than 2 miles to either Super Target or Super Walmart
    • 1/2 mile from Publix Grocery Store (2 more within a 10-minute drive)
    • 1/2 mile from a convenience store/gas station

On top of these conveniences, there are countless restaurants, cafes, bars and grills, ice cream shops, and even a bowling alley — all within a 2-mile radius of Sanibel Gateway.

    The Great Outdoors

A short drive or bike ride (4 stoplights, 3.3 miles, drive it in five minutes) takes you to the Sanibel Island Causeway, the only motor vehicle access to Sanibel Island.

The Fort Myers Beach and fishing pier (still being rebuilt) are only three-and-a-half miles away.

Bunche Beach and the Bunche Beach Nature Preserve are five minutes (1.8 miles) away at the end of John Morris Road (and a paved bike trail takes you all the way there).

    J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, a premier birding destination on Sanibel Island, is only 9 miles away. You can drive, bike, or walk the 4.5-mile Wildlife Drive, walk or bike the trails, and even canoe or kayak the water trails in the Refuge.
