From I-75 to Siesta Bay:
Take Exit 131 (Daniels Parkway). Turn left at the stop light (if coming from the south) or right (if coming from the north). Stay in the left lane and go to 6 Mile Cypress Parkway and turn left.
As you cross US 41 (Tamiami Trail), 6 Mile Cypress Parkway becomes Gladiolus Drive.
Stay in the left lane on Gladiolus Drive. You will go over a bridge with a curve to the right as Gladiolus Drive merges into Summerlin Rd. If you stay in the left lane on Summerlin Rd, you will be in the proper lane to turn in to Siesta Bay or continue on to the causeway to Sanibel Island. If not, as Summerlin Road crosses San Carlos Boulevard, get into the left-hand lane. Get into the second left turn lane after San Carlos Blvd. This is the entrance to Siesta Bay.
As you enter Siesta Bay, you will see the Community Building, Offices, etc. Enter the first parking area you see, on the right, and you will be on the right-hand or west side of the Rental Office. Stop and register there for your individual pass. They can also assist you in locating Homewatch Security, who will issue you a key to The Coquina.
From Siesta Bay Resort Park to Sanibel and Captiva Islands:
There is only one road that takes you on or off Sanibel Island.
Exit the main drive of Siesta Bay and turn left (west) onto Summerlin Road.
Stay on Summerlin when it merges into McGregor Boulevard. From that point you are on McGregor Boulevard (or County Road 867), which takes you directly to the Sanibel Toll Facility at the base of the Sanibel Causeway bridge. All toll lanes are now cashless. They automatically take a picture of your license plate and send you a bill for the toll. Avoid the billing with a SunPass on your car.
The Causeway takes you over San Carlos Bay onto Sanibel Island. Captiva Island is situated on the northwest tip of Sanibel Island and stretches to the north.
To get to Captiva Island, turn right onto Periwinkle Way, the first stop sign on Sanibel. Continue on this road until it “T”s with Tarpon Bay Road. Turn right. At the next stop sign, turn left onto San-Cap Road. After a few miles, you’ll go over the small bridge at Blind Pass at which point you will be on Captiva Island.
Reverse these directions to leave the islands.
